I think most people know that I LOVE burgers. If you didn't know, then a brief background. I started this blog and predominantly wrote about burgers, which are a big favourite of mine. A clear way to know I love burgers was my 10 Burgers in 10 Hours challenge; which, I completed on my third attempt. Why the background, well... Imagine this, a restaurant which does a burger and then burgers in a taco and Pizza. I introduce you to... ...Neil Rankin. Famously known for his work at Pitt Cue Co and The Smokehouse. Rankin is known for his butchery skills and fusing modern and traditional cooking together. With this repertoire he opened his latest joint of ventures, Temper Soho in 2016. Since then, two more sites have opened, and a key feature of this has been his incorporation of the Cheeseburger into other dishes. These are cheeseburger tacos and cheeseburger Pizza. These may sound like gimmicks which some fast food or supermarkets may have tried. However, these are the real deal. So, Cheeseburgers are everywhere! The success Temper has achieved is not to just put a cheeseburger in a classic dish, ie- Pizza. But instead, he has kept the min elements of a pizza and taco and enhanced their flavour with a cheeseburger element. A Saturday night out for my cousins birthday was the occasion for this visi to Temper in Covent Garden. I suggested this restaurant for my cousin from American as I believe it showcases the great talent of chefs and food in the UK and London. The change made here, is that the Temper menu has mostly been combined. Previously the Tacos were only on the menu at Temper Soho; whilst the Chicago style Pizza was for Temper Covent Garden. Pizzas and Tacos all in one place. ![]() The Food here is rich and full of flavour. The use of the meat and ingredients such as Bone Marrow, Beef ragu and confit onions showcase all of Rankins previous work, but also staying on top of modern food and techniques. Treat the tacos as a starter initially, and with two in each portion, you may want to get extra. A few bites of each with a squeeze of lime, mean that before you know it you are onto to the main courses (Pizza). I think due to the variety on the menu it is best to plan ahead and figure out what you want. Is it an all out buffet style selection. Or is your focus on pizza and tacos, flatbreads and steak or even a burger and chips. Added to this, the great selection of drinks too; we went for mezcal, gin and probably too much more. This all added to a fun night and a venue which accommodated to keep the foodies happy, the conversation flowing and the drinks downed. Temper offers a relaxed vibe, one with good food and good for all occasions. OMG: Cheeseburger both ways: Tacos and Pizza WATCH OUT: Focus on the menu or you will miss out GOOD TIMES: Pork tacos were very tasty and a must, oh and the soft shell crab too.
