No football predictions this time round, just hopes and prayers. After a great weekend for Liverpool FC I finally can start to believe that we might win the league. It's now the business end of the season and Liverpool are involved in the title race and are actually in a really good position. Like many fans of LFC I don't want to get ahead of myself, because as it stands we have not won anything yet. Our aim was to finish in the top four and touch wood that is looking very likely. But as AC Milan found out in 2005, things can change very quickly.
Yesterday's result against Spurs wasn't too much of a surprise but it was a statement. Talk of pressure has surfaced all week and this was evident in the previous game against Sunderland, however the early goal yesterday changed all that. One thing that i have noticed is that this season, bar the Arsenal versus Liverpool game which Arsenal won 2-0, Liverpool have not been dominated against. This team that Brendan Rodgers has moulded has not allowed the opposition to create constant pressure and we have made good teams look very average in the last few months. This coupled with the SAS partnerships means that Liverpool always provide a threat going forward. At this moment we can believe. The older fans are being optimistically cautious, while the younger fans are being bold and brave. Based on form and results why shouldn't they be; the electric form of Suarez and Sturridge has meant that Liverpool have scored 16 goals in their last four games. Sterling, after the first half of the season slump has been in incredible form and has matured so much since December 2013. Yesterday against Spurs, each player performed and easily deserved 8 out of 10 for their performances, and if they continue this then you never know. From 7th position to 1st place and champions is practically impossible and the fact that I haven't said "next season" and we are now coming to April shows the progress Liverpool have made. The signs are looking positive and our fate is in our own hands. If we fall short, we should not view this as a failure nor the whole season as a major success. Teams should always aim for first, not fourth. However, the steps are important and after many years without champions league football that top four is vital for the continued success of Liverpool Football Club. "now you're gonna believe us... we're gonna win the league" It could happen but as results showed these last few days, anything can happen. Let's enjoy the ride.

So after over a year of writing blogs and reviews, with the aim of increasing readership and followers I have found out it is not so easy. I have had plenty of discussions about SEOs, keywords, followers and traffic. I have also talked a lot about other blogs, restaurants I need to go to and my grammar. But what hasn't been spoken about much is my content. Or at least until today.
Content is the buzz word now. I write about burgers, I write about food. I also write about myself and put pictures of all the things I do (a little rhyme there). However, I think the content is lacking. I'm not writing about anything too interesting. The places I go to are not that new and reviews of most places I've been to have been out for ages already. Even now, I'm losing the focus of what this blog is about and this indecision shows itself in the lack of followers and readers I have. So what do I do to create content that is engaging and that keeps people coming back? How do I become a source of authority? I am not too proud to say it but I need help. If I think about what keeps me engaged with other sites, it has to be news and information that is both relevant and useful to me. Alongside this, is the trusted source/authority that I look to; the websites I engage with have great knowledge on their subject matter and an opinion which I value too. Opinion pieces are becoming really important in creating good content and this may be the reason why my only followers are my friends. They must be the only people who value my opinion. So where do I go from here? I think a clear goal and aim needs to be set for this website. Do I want to be a food reviewer or do I want to just write about anything I do and hope I increase my followers that way? When I see my friends they mostly go on about my food reviews, especially the burgers I eat and how often I have burgers too. Maybe this is the path this site should take, but then again, I feel that there are better sources of information for this and to be honest, my life is more than just Burgers. I will continue writing about my life as that was the original aim, but I will work on making sure that the content is slightly more interesting and engaging. Wish me luck. |
