I just had to go didn't I?. A new burger place had opened in London, it was mentioned in the press, a colleague had sent me extra info about it and it was just round the corner. So I went and all by myself too. I actually didn't plan on going last week, I thought I would be social and go with someone else but it wasn't meant to be. Off for a walk i went and when I reached Big Fernand I was handed a menu and that was it. As a side note to what makes the Big Fernand very special is that you can make your own burger and customise it too. Supposedly there are over 3,000 combinations which is enough to entice every burger lover. The French have now truly arrived into the London burger scene and following from Le Bun, I would say that they are doing a good job. The burger i ordered was the La Bartholome, this came with Raclette cheese, bacon, caramalised onions, chives and a barbecque sauce. When i unwrapped the burger i was quite suprised to just see a bun. It was almost someone had transformed a burger into a pie. Where was all the good stuff? Where was my beef, my bacon, my cheese.
