![]() Good Mexican food in London is something I struggle with. Where do you go? Wahaca? Nope. Mestizo in Euston, not really. What about breddos tacos? This food truck, come permanent restaurant has been cooking up a delight in London for a few years now and although I have had a takeaway from them before, last week I sat down in their restaurant for the first time. A bit of background form them first: "Breddos started out as a makeshift taco shack in a car park in Hackney back in 2011. Since then, we’ve gone on to do residencies and pop-ups, Street Feast, a cook book, as well as a cook-off at LA’s Tacolandia festival in 2016, before finding a permanent home for ourselves in Clerkenwell. Our food is influenced by the hundreds of roadside taquerias and restaurants we have encountered on our travels throughout America and Mexico, whilst utilising the best of British produce from passionate producers such as Phillp Warren and Son and Wild Harbour in Cornwall." Learn from your travels around the world and delight the masses in the UK; yes please. What did we eat on a slightly chilly Monday night. Tacos (of course): These are for one and between us we ordered from across the menu. I went specifically for the: Masa Fried Chicken: Roasted habenero, heritage tomato pico de gallo Kung Pao Pork Belly: sichuan, Bird's eye chile, spring onion Other dishes to share: Beef Quesadilla - picture above. A great sharing dish. Pork Chop - with all the toppings etc on the side for people to make their own wraps OR just have the meat by itself Lamb Shoulder - As above. Sherwin ripped apart the meat off the bone and then we each took our portions and ate the tender meat. Some views of my friends who joined me for this visit: - The beef quesadilla and slow roasted lamb joint for sharing were outstanding. - Good taco joint where sharing is the best way to sample all the delights. The pork belly and 'seafood one (Octppus) were delightful. Staff were friendly and very quick to offer their recommendations as to which dishes we should try I couldn't agree anymore with the above views and thoughts. Breddos was a bit of an adventure. The food came out when ready so we were constantly excited and waiting for what was to come next. This continued all the way to the dessert of churros and ice cream. GOOD TIMES: Pork Belly tacos so good, you really should get two
WATCH OUT: No warnings needed, relax and have some Mezcal OMG: The sharing dishes of Pork and Lamb were divine.
