• LOVE FOOD, LIVE FOODIE •
In the heart of Shoreditch comes the latest creation by the team who gave us the Drunken Monkey. Bull in a China Shop makes you mentally prepared for Asian fusion and this is definitely what you get. Think diner type food but with an Asian twist, which seems to make everything that more tantalising and appealing.
This visit was orchestrated by Mr Oran and followed a few Whiskys at Black Rock. This is my excuse for the blurry pictures that follow. A Friday night with cocktails and fusion food to share. To me, this sounds like a winner. So let me share with you how it went.
I treated this food and restaurant as I usually do with Asian food and Tapas. That is, to share with friends and family. Order what I want, but be happy to share and likewise hope to share what others have ordered too.
The menu made this easy to do. Variety being the spice of life made it all appealing and foodie words and names throw themselves at me:
Some of the stand out dishes were the steamed bao sliders, the Chicken was a winner, the squid and sticky ribs too. We were bombarded by food between the six of us. A lot of food is always a good thing and with the drinks made it a fun night. The venue and waiting staff were happy to help the fun continue and definitely contributed to a good night.
From a purely foodie perspective, Bull in a China Shop will not feature in the Top 100 but is still a destination in its own right. Foodie delights are about the experience and here you are guaranteed to have a good time. Fusion food is really taking off right now and so it should. We have a wealth of specialist cuisines restaurants and there is a need or magic things up and brings flavours together. This mash up brings new flavours and inventions. Whisky glaze, truffle and chives and ribs with kimchi. Why not?
The Bull here packs its own punch. The experience and fusion mesh well together to delight. The location can make it easy to walk past, but slow down and enjoy your night here. Thanks all for a good night.
