First of all, thank you Google Maps. Trying to find one place helped me find Burger Shack. Now there are 2 burger places near my work. This one the same in that a Burger 'operator' has taken up residency inside a Pub. The Pub this time being the Royal Oak in Marleybone, London. I found it and then rushed over to try it. Quite a good choice on the menu, but as always i said, stick to the basics and i went with the cheeseburger with fries on the side. £8.50 for a burger is quite a bit really, so quality needed to be really high to justify! (That rhymes). Out came the burger and fries and 3 different sauces, Mayo, BBQ and Hot Sauce. A splashed a bit on the side.
What i did next was wait. I just sat there and let the smell of the burger hit me. Usually i just dive in, but that bit of patience made the first bite even more enjoyable. The glazed bun immediately stood out. A nice shine to it and it was Strong! By strong i mean, once in my hands, didnt feel like it was going to fall apart. First bite in and the softness of the patty coupled with the twin flavours of ketchup & mustard ensured straight away that i will be back. The taste of the mustard and pickles soon followed and what i like most about the pickles was it brought back the sensation of home-made burgers.
The fries were not too bad either. They had a good crunch and served in a very generous cup sized portion. With the different sauces on offer, i devoured every crumb served to me.
Thanks alot BurgerShack & Royal Oak. I will be back!
