I like to take my time with food and enjoy every moment. I don't like to take too long to visit a new restaurant but unfortunately I had to with Chiltern Firehouse. The waiting list was a long one and any availability they had was usually 10 or 10:30 pm. A bit too late for an expensive experience I thought.
So I waited for Valentine's Day to go.
Actually two weeks after Valentines Day- because of the busy nature of the restaurant and i wanted to have my dinner at a reasonable hour; 7:30pm reasonable enough right?
So, did it live up to the hype?
Chiltern Firehouse is not the go to place it was 12 months ago, but based on waiting times it still is a popular venue. Once inside the restaurant was busy, but it did not seem overcrowded or crammed. The bar welcomed us in and we had an early drink.
I heard mixed reviews about the restaurant and the price definitely is a big issue here. Cocktails at about £12 each and main courses closer to £30 each. You expect to be pleased with these prices and i was pleased. The drinsk were tasty and the food delicious.
Rich, decadent, tender, moist, juicy and elegant.
Is that a good description for you?
Every dish below is something You should have.
The maple sweet potato was the strange one. It was more of a cream then a mash potato and the maple sweetness was incredible. It was just a bit confusing to eat. Do try it and everything else.
Service is on point and the atmosphere and venue are all incredible. I would love to go back and go on a summers day and sit outside.
If you go then, please invite me.
