![]() You've stayed with me and it's only week 5. E for Egypt and that means some warm North African flavours with meat. The research usually with this takes a while and I have to go through various sources. This time round it only took one minute and I knew what I was cooking. Koshari This is basically rice, macaroni, lentils and a spicy tomato sauce. Sound simple enough to and tasty enough. Cooking is fun and I got Laura involved this time team. Cooking together and then eating together make everything so worthwhile. The components for the Kushari were nice, simple and cooked separately. So far, a bit uninspiring, but when they came together you could tell that something special was happening and that plain rice, macaroni and even lentils could become something intriguing. The North African flavours which give us such warm depth, heat and heart came to the fore. Alone, the Kushari is a national dish.
However, to give this dish some more and to fill my belly, you can have this dish with anything else you like I was too lazy to make anything but some good ideas ares made some Kebabs. Basically lamb skewers or Chicken skewers. It is the simple things in life that make you happy.
