So Friday becomes the day when people like to go wild with their food options and spoil themselves. After the trials of the tube strike we all deserve a little treat today and with the good weather in London and the UK, spoil yourselves.
Speaking of the tube strike, don't worry foodies, next time this happens we will have something to look forward to. The Hix Group and Salt Yard Group were rewarding patrons with a 50% offer for those who got there after 6:30pm last night. A great reward for the hardcore. Also, when the tube strike tries to affect you, remember that those places which are usually too busy will probably have space to seat you.
Here is what is hot today and for the rest of your weekend.
Another important thing to think about, is the food you are going to make on the weekend. Saturday for me is a lazy day. During the day it is all about the quick and easy- here is where a Sandwich works well. A bacon egg sandwich in the morning always is a winner- a tip I saw from Jamie Oliver was using the bacon fat from the pan/ foil used instead of butter on bread. Also, clear the ketchup away and go for some brown sauce. It will give you the feel of something different and exciting on the amazing weekend that is all yours.
Sunday is a different story. This day of rest is the one where effort should be made for a big meal. Unless you are going for a roast, Sunday allows for preparation and planning.
If you do not heed my advice then please do follow these foodie sites below for recommendations. These are some of my sources and will point you in the right direction in terms of what is good, new openings and openings soon.
I hope you enjoyed the first of our Friday Foodie Updates.
Please do let me know where you are off too today, send pictures, recipes etc. Will you cook or be lazy? Michelin starred or fast food? Just make sure you eat lots.
