Football predictions: Man City for the league

Arsenal top! Man city at home thrashing, Chelsea boring and Suarez goal scoring. It has been enjoyable and I have had more ups then downs supporting Liverpool. So have my predictions changed - YES. Why, well this is because the league has never been closer at the top and with the top five separated by six points; Man United and Spurs only two points behind and over 50 points left to play for this will be an amazing end to the league.

So initially I had tipped Chelsea to win the league and that was mainly due to Mourinho. As with before, Chelsea and Mourinho know how to grind out results and it hasn't been pretty but they sit only two points off the pace and are bound to get better. But their lack of a striker I think will cost them and they will slip to second.

My new tip for the title is the obvious choice of Man City. They clearly have the best squad and the way things have been going they seem to be getting stronger. The beatings of Spurs and Arsenal show that they can score whenever they want. The only reason they seem to lose is because of their arrogance and complacency. The result against Fulham now shows me that they are ready to win away from home and therefore the league.

Arsenal have done really well and will also push these two close but unfortunately their February blip will come back to haunt them. In a few weeks they will be out of the Champions league and the league. 3rd for them then.

The fight for fourth will be between four teams. Everton, Liverpool, Man united and Spurs. I hope that Liverpool can do it and we have most of the big games at home so fingers crossed. The January transfer window will be important and if Liverpool can get a few additional quality players then I will be very happy.

Roll on 2014 and an exciting race for the title.
