• LOVE FOOD, LIVE FOODIE •
I got very excited when I saw the menu for Jar Kitchen and even more excited when I had a reservation. British Food served just round the corner from work, this is something i could get used to. The menu is simple enough and i think this is great because you don't need to mull over a menu for ages. Also if you go as a group there is the chance to share your dishes together and this is what we did for our starters. Croquettes, Ceviche and Chicken Liver Parfait all looked amazing on the menu and all looked amazing on arrival too. The portions were perfect for the three of us and all had the desired affect of us looking forward to our main courses. The starters didn't blow me off my feet but they got the taste buds going and offered a chance to try a elegant mix of flavours. All the starters were tasty and i could easily have had each one to myself. The price point definitely offers this option for the customer and a return visit of just these three for myself wouldn't be too bad. Jar Kitchen is a treat and wouldn't be somewhere you would go for lunch every day but once a week sounds good and the changing menu would make sure that you don't get bored of the same thing. My main course is the main reason why i will be back to Jar Kitchen. The Lemon Sole came with Buttered beans and broccoli and the flavours and textures were awesome. I ate this as slowly as i could just so that i could have the flavours remain in my mouth for as long as possible. The fish was juicy and flakey and the beans warm and soft. The broccoli added an excellent crunch and bite to the dish which made each mouthful an adventure.
I will be going back to Jar Kitchen very soon and I know that everything on the menu will be tasty. The main courses were a step above the starters which to me is a plus and the changing menu means that I can sample loads all the time.
