Lahore One: curry night review

Tried and tested, Lahore One is an old favourite of two loyal members of the curry club. My friends dad religiously goes to this restaurant every Fridays, so we were well equipped with what to order and what to eat. The staff were aware of this connection and were very kind and welcoming throughout the evening.

Neon lights: what more do you need?
I have actually been once before, so I went straight to ordering a kebab roll. What a great start. Two sheekh kebabs wrapped in naan bread with salad and chillies. Hot and spicy, the wrap was the perfect size, almost like a starter and I gobbled it up in a few minutes. Added to this, we had some really great Chicken Tikka pieces too; they were tasty and juicy and had a nice sprinkling of herbs on top which gave it an added extra spice.

Chicken Tikka, perfect starter
My friends and I have got to that age where we are supposedly watching our weight. SO after a kebab roll each and some chicken tikka, we took it easy with the main courses and eve after this there was some leftover. For the mains we ordered Mehti Chicken and Channa (lentil curry). These were really tasty and both had the extra addition of ginger which added a fresh element to the dishes which were both plentiful and delicious. The portion sizes worked perfectly where we even had enough to take away.

A B.Y.O on drinks and a pleasant and friendly attitude left me very happy. A successful curry night goes a long way to making me happy and Lahore One did the trick. Their parting act topped off the whole experience, with a free T-Shirt too. WOW. Just WOW.

One Liner: A friendly little place in East London. kebab roll.
