• LOVE FOOD, LIVE FOODIE •
Here is my attempt at a pancake. Nice and fluffy and although it doesn't look great, after a heap of syrup it tastes awesome. My quick recipe is stolen from the BBC and was inspired by American diners.
Recipe= flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.Mixed with beaten egg, milk and melted butter. Mix batter and then ladle onto a frying pan and once cooked, put lots of syrup all over and eat. Pancake day is the eve of lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday and is about sacrifice and a fasting of certain foods. Well, this is how I know it from friends. This year, like every other year I am not doing lent. I am giving up on giving up. I fasted once a while ago during Ramadan and to be honest I don't know why I did it. I've never been truly religious but am interested in trying most things. I am like this in most of my life and try to create a balance in all things. I can be extreme in short bursts but also I can be boring to the max. Dieting is an example and although it would be great to have a six pac, these diets all seem unsustainable. That is because they are; you have to put your body through an ordeal for a short period to achieve a certain look. I'm all for everyone being happy and content with their looks but do it in a natural way and not one that you can't keep to. Lent is a forty day challenge and if it helps you in your religion then more power to you. Do it for the right reasons and when you are done, shut up and carry on with life.
