• LOVE FOOD, LIVE FOODIE •
I honestly feel like I have blogged about this before. Has it got so bad that I have nothing else to write about? I just have to go on and on about some sort of food I have eaten.
So this time last month, my friends and i had a catch up and decided to play top golf and then eat. Monthly catch up is ideal and it worked so we decided to do the same again. This time we ate first and then played golf. Same restaurant but different steak; we went to the Steakhouse in Watford The appeal of this restaurant is that it is on the taste card offer and it has a wide variety of exotic steaks. Last time I played it safe and went for fillet; this time round i chose camel. Why? Because it is a camel! Other options on the menu include Zebra, Wildebeast, Ostrich, Crocodile, Shark, Llama, Kangaroo and many others.
The steak comes out rare on a hot slab at a temperature of 450 degrees Celsius. The advise given is to take the meat off the slab, cut into pieces and then cook each piece however you prefer. The meat was nice and tender but it wasn't anything special. The safe option last time of fillet steak was a lot better and my friends who ordered differently last time were happier with their first decision too.
The fact that the steak comes on the hot slab means the restaurant is very Smokey. This added with the décor makes it feel like a 1970s shag pad, especially with the fur hides on the wall. I can see the idea behind it; exotic restaurant with meat from South Africa, therefore showcase tiger fur and hidden treasures from afar. But it really isn't needed and the place needs to be lightened up.
Thankfully the service was good and there wasn't anything to creepy going on, just some good steak and good company.
Please check out this site later, because the real excitement comes in the form of Sherwin and I playing golf.
Boy are we bad.
