![]() All Day Breakfast! Some days, these words are the best and just what is needed. Recommendations are a must with new places. With so many options to eat out, get delivery or take away, you want a reliable source to tell you about something good. Wanasa Cafe is just this -https://wanasacafe.co.uk/ Driving past to another place, we saw this place, but weren't sure about visiting. Hence, the recommendation was the key factor in driving us here. A bit about Wanasa from the team there: "Wanasa means connecting with people in humble settings, usually with food and music involved. It is a unique Arabic word with no direct translation. A neighbourhood cafe serving speciality coffee and tea, delicious artisan treats and a tasty all day breakfast menu. Lunch menu to come, bringing authentic Arabic home cooking based on family recipes to Winchmore Hill." On our lunchtime visit, this is what we got: - Eggs with Bastirma, Scrambled eggs, spiced beef sausage, chives, kalamata olives + sourdough - Full Breakfast of Halloumi. Sausage, tomatoes, beans, mushroom and scrambled eggs. - Lemon Cake The desire to go to Wanasa is the need to have a change from the ordinary.
The added herbs and spices, the merguez or beef sausages are just a few examples of this. I try this myself at home, but it is never the same or as good. Balance is always key and a good place will get this right. The warmth of spices such as cumin or zesty flavours of sumac take the traditional elements of a breakfast to another level. With a hot coffee, the scrambled egg had pieces of Bastirma (beef sausage) was a delightful bonus with every bite. A key way to take a simple dish of scramble egg and transport you elsewhere. With an evolving menu and a lunch menu to come, Wanasa will be a go to place for locals. A menu encompassing the middle east and its variety will entice food lovers and give them new experiences to add to these strange times. I'm looking forward to going back again and try out more dishes and cakes too.
